The Kauri Rescue team is frustrated at the prolonged wet spring weather which is preventing us from starting our field season this year. Unfortunately the ground conditions are still far too wet for us to safely work in the bush in Auckland without spreading the kauri dieback pathogen.

We understand that our landowners will also be feeling frustrated as the days tick by and we want to assure you that as soon as we consider it is safe to start our work we will be contacting all those on our waiting list to arrange to issue you with a treatment kit. We really hope that happens before Christmas, but it needs to stop raining heavily first and dry up for a couple of weeks. We are keeping everything crossed we get a dry patch really soon!

However, the bush will be loving the rain and there is plenty of spring growth, so we are trying to stay patient and enjoy the warm weather.Â
