Auckland Local Parks treatment in Kauri Park Birkenhead

Treated Cascades big trees have health reassessed

Supporting kauri health on a special property in Karekare
The Kauri Rescue team recently spent a day helping Karekare landowner Richard Gray treat a large number of sick kauri. Richard has an incredible property of mature taraire, puriri and kauri forest that is completely undeveloped and runs adjacent to the Waitākere Ranges Regional Park, so it is incredibly important from an ecological point of view, and stunningly beautiful.
Landowner’s Kauri Protection Workshop a Success
Pest Free Kaipatiki invited our Project Coordinator Dr Mels Barton to participate in a workshop aimed at landowners with kauri.
Join us at the Matuku Link World Wetlands Day on Sunday 1 February
The Kauri Rescue team will be joining a plethera of environmental and community stalls being showcased at the Matuku Link World Wetlands Day market on Sunday 1 February at 111 Bethells Rd, Te Henga, west Auckland from 10am to 3pm. Last year there were over 600 attendees and the event was buzzing, so we expect a similar turnout this time and another great family day out.
Landowner support programme gets into gear
Our landowner treatment support work has kicked into gear for 2026 and we have been very busy since mid December delivering and demonstrating our treatment kits to landowners on our waiting list as well as running workshops with our team to support those landowners with big properties that need a bit of help like Tracey Woulfe in Makarau who has a 42 hectare farm with several bush blocks with infected kauri.
