Our kauri are taonga – ancient, iconic, and under threat.
Our kauri are taonga – ancient, iconic, and under threat.
Kauri Rescueâ„¢ works every day to protect Aotearoa’s treasured kauri forests from kauri dieback disease, a devastating pathogen that threatens the very existence of these majestic trees. By combining science, community engagement, and private landowner partnerships, we’re building effective, practical ways to care for kauri – but we cannot do it alone.
Why partner with us
When your organisation chooses to support Kauri Rescue, you will be:
-
- Helping protect one of Aotearoa’s most iconic species – kauri trees that have stood for millennia and are deeply woven into the ecological and cultural fabric of our land.
- Building a legacy of environmental stewardship that aligns with your sustainability and community impact goals.
- Demonstrating meaningful action – not just words – toward protecting biodiversity and supporting collaborative science-led conservation.
- Supporting a structured partnership framework designed to help you meet environmental, cultural, and social responsibility objectives. Our team works with partners to tailor meaningful engagement that goes beyond logos and exposure.
- Whether you want to focus on a specific project, deepen your connection to nature, or engage your customers and staff in purpose-led conservation – we’ll work with you to shape what partnership looks like.
What’s possible together
Our partnerships have helped transform how we care for kauri – from advancing treatment research and monitoring efforts to empowering landowners to look after the trees on their own properties. The impacts include:
- Enabling hands-on conservation and field support across regions affected by kauri dieback.
- Supporting innovation and research that unlocks practical tools and insights for long-term kauri health.
- Strengthening community engagement and education so all New Zealanders understand their role in protecting kauri.
